Edward Alexander Endowment

Following Edward Alexander’s death in 2003, members of his family decided to commemorate his contributions to the museum field, and his love of the University of Delaware, with the creation of the Edward P. Alexander Endowment. The income from this endowment is intended to support internships and related professional development opportunities for students completing the Museum Studies Certificate.

In 2023, the Museum Studies Program is celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a fundraising campaign committed to growing the Alexander Endowment and making our program the first in the country to guarantee fair-wage paid internships to every student.
